Lore & Background
Operation Red Storm unfolds in the aftermath of the main Ghost Recon: Future Soldier campaign, where the Ghosts dismantled a Russian ultranationalist coup. Now, the team is deployed to a remote, blizzard-lashed region of Russia. A rogue military faction has seized control of an early-warning missile defense system—a relic of the Cold War, bristling with radar arrays that can see across continents. The Ghosts must neutralize this threat before a false alarm triggers a cascade of retaliatory strikes. Operating with minimal oversight and maximum lethality, they are the last line of defense against a war no one would survive.
In Their Own Story
The Ghosts are inserted into a blizzard-swept Russian forest, their thermal optics cutting through the whiteout like scalpels. A rogue general has taken over an early-warning radar station, threatening to trigger a false alarm that could spark a war. The team moves silently through the snow, using suppressed fire and coordinated takedowns to clear the facility. In the final moments, they disable the radar array and exfiltrate via a waiting helicopter, leaving no trace of their presence—just footprints already erased by the storm.
Reader's Guide
Operation Red Storm is a single-player and co-op campaign consisting of three missions set in a frozen Russian wilderness. The Ghosts must infiltrate a rogue general's stronghold, sabotage the missile defense system he has seized, and extract without a whisper. Gameplay emphasizes stealth and tactical coordination: thermal optics are your eyes in the whiteout, suppressed weapons your voice, and synchronized takedowns your signature. The campaign expands the lore of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier by showing the Ghosts' relentless operations after the main story, but it introduces no new characters or major plot twists—it is a focused, atmospheric mission pack that tests your squad's discipline in the harshest conditions.
